Overview

Designed the visual identity for an internal Teacher Appreciation Campaign for Denver Public Schools, celebrating educators across the district. The project focused on creating a warm, recognizable campaign system that could extend across internal communications, events, and appreciation materials.

Process

Understanding the Campaign

Defined a visual direction rooted in appreciation, optimism, and community within an internal Denver Public Schools initiative.

Developing the Identity

Created a distinctive logo supported by a flexible visual system designed for clarity, scalability, and consistent use across internal communications.

A central concept of the identity was the use of the apple as a distilled symbol of recognition and appreciation within education, referencing its longstanding cultural association with teaching. Rather than using the symbol literally, it was simplified into a more modern, graphic form to function as a subtle cue of gratitude rather than a decorative icon, allowing the identity to feel familiar without relying on cliché visuals.

To ensure alignment with the broader district system, I incorporated the Denver Public Schools brand color palette, using the signature blue as the primary identity color, supported by secondary green and red accents. This approach reinforced consistency with existing brand guidelines while ensuring visual cohesion across official district communications.

Extending the Brand

Applied the identity across a suite of campaign materials, including posters, digital graphics, event signage, and appreciation items, ensuring consistency across multiple internal touchpoints.
